The problem in the past has always been that solar units have been separate modules that have to be connected to the product using cabling. Incorporating the solar system into the product itself is much neater and is less prone to vandalism.

The level of lighting generating by existing solar systems has also been an issue.

onthecase’s new solar lighting solution addresses the problem of low light generation that has been a problem with many existing solar lighting products designed for this market.

Solar light generation is extremely cost effective to install and operate

• output is 350 lumens using only 3 watts of power – a level which provides more than enough light to illuminate display material
• the system offers sequence lighting in which units are only illuminated once movement is detected using a unique sensor system, thus saving on energy usage. Movement of people, bikes or cars can trigger the sensor which can be customised to agreed timings and speeds
• just one hour of sunshine is needed to generate sufficient power to illuminate the notice board or poster case for a month – so there is no problem even during the gloomiest winter months

• vandal resistant – solar units are protected by a robust polycarbonate covering
• the solar unit is integrated into the notice board or poster case which is both stylish and has the added advantage of requiring no cabling which is always potentially vulnerable to environmental hazards or vandalism.
• The system has also been designed to offer sequence lighting using a unique sensor system – the units will only light up when approached by people, bikes or cars – all to agreed timings and speeds.

The new solar lighting system is very affordable comparing favourably with traditional lighting systems. Operating costs are lower and there are significant savings on installation costs due to the lack of need for cabling or connections to mains or other power sources.

Solar lighting will be available on all onthecase’s best selling range of poster cases and notice boards. In addition, the solar unit will also be available as a post light, available in heights of 1000mm, 2000mm, 3000mm and 4000mm and finished in silver anodised aluminium as standard. Other finishes and specialcolours are available on request.
